Noor al-Dhikr calculates precise prayer coordinates based on your device's geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude). The app integrates standard math formulas and supports multiple regional computation standards:

• University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi: Standard method in Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh.
• Islamic Society of North America (ISNA): Standard method in North America.
• Muslim World League (MWL): Standard method in Europe and parts of the Middle East.
• Custom Time Offsets: Adjust custom minute offsets (e.g. to match local Meezan Bank timings or masjid calendars).

Our live Qibla compass uses your device's built-in magnetometer and accelerometer. For an accurate reading:

1. Keep the device flat in the palm of your hand, level with the ground.
2. Move the device in a slow "figure-8" motion in the air to calibrate the magnetic sensor.
3. Ensure you are away from large metal objects, speakers, magnet-closured phone cases, or computers, as these will disrupt sensor alignment.

On modern mobile systems (especially Android), strict battery optimization settings can sleep background tasks or put the app to sleep, causing delayed or missing alarms.

To resolve this:

• Open your device's Settings > Apps > Noor al-Dhikr.
• Tap on Battery or Battery Saver and set it to Unrestricted / Do Not Optimize.
• Lock the app in your system's recent tasks screen to prevent the operating system from shutting down the background alarm listener.

Yes. The core calculation routines, Dua categories, prophet accounts, Tajweed text courses, and local settings database are processed 100% offline. You only need internet connectivity to load audio recitations or complete billing transactions.

Our offline Fiqh database includes 8 classic jurisprudential PDFs accessible directly in the built-in viewer, including rules on daily purification, prayers, Zakat, fasting, and family transactions compiled according to major school frameworks.

No. Your location coordinates are processed entirely on your device. We do not track, collect, or store your location details on our databases, nor do we share them with third parties. Your privacy is our highest priority.
